The European Clean Energy Transition Conference 2026 will convene industry leaders, policymakers, investors, and innovators to chart a path toward a secure, competitive, and sustainable energy future for Europe. With energy policy now central to Europe’s competitiveness and security, the conference will explore how to reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels, diversify clean-energy sources, and scale domestic infrastructure — from renewables and grids to hydrogen and low-carbon fuels. As Europe advances its clean and digital transitions, discussions will focus on keeping energy affordable and accessible while strengthening industrial leadership and resilience across the continent.

After the launch of Europe’s Action Plan for Affordable Energy and broader energy-security strategy, implementation now defines success. 2026 will be a proving year for how these policies translate into stable prices, secure supply, and a competitive industry. This session examines the next phase — from national roll-outs and long-term contracts to cross-border integration and investment frameworks — exploring how Europe can embed affordability and security into its energy mix for the decade ahead.

Europe’s grid bottlenecks now define its competitiveness. Building on the EU Grid Action Plan and the forthcoming European Grids Package, this session looks at how system operators, regulators, and suppliers can translate strategy into action — accelerating permitting, digitalisation, and flexibility markets to deliver a future-proof network that underpins Europe’s clean-energy transition.

Europe’s industrial decarbonisation depends on scaling low-carbon fuels, electrified heat, and carbon-management solutions to stay globally competitive. Early foundations have been laid — through the Net-Zero Industry Act and the European Hydrogen Bank — but success now hinges on unlocking new funding vehicles under the Multiannual Financial Framework, activating future market mechanisms, and providing clearer regulatory certainty. This session explores how hydrogen, CCUS, and process-electrification projects can accelerate decarbonisation across energy-intensive sectors — from steel and chemicals to transport and manufacturing — while strengthening Europe’s clean-tech value chains and turning legislative ambition into industrial transformation.
Daniel Mes, Member of the Task Force on the EU’s Future Competitiveness, European Commission (confirmed)
Markus Exenberger, Executive Director, H2Global Foundation (moderator – confirmed)

Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and advanced manufacturing are redefining Europe’s energy landscape — driving unprecedented demand for clean, constant, and intelligent power. As data centres, factories, and transport systems electrify, ensuring 24/7 clean supply becomes both a competitiveness and resilience challenge. Building on Europe’s digitalisation and electrification strategies, this session examines how policymakers, utilities, and technology providers can enable smarter energy systems — integrating hydrogen, flexibility, and digital optimisation across grids and industry to support the continent’s AI-driven growth.
